The Canfield Solitaire 1.6.1

The game commences with the dealing of thirteen cards, initially placed face up and subsequently turned face down, forming the reserve. The top card of this reserve is available for immediate play. Following this, a card is set upon the first of the four foundations located to the right of the reserve. This card initiates its foundation, necessitating that all other cards of equivalent rank serve as the basis for the remaining three foundations.

Below these foundations is the tableau, consisting of four piles initiated by a single card each. The top cards of these piles are accessible for gameplay. In this tableau, cards must be arranged in descending order while alternating colors, whereas the foundations are constructed in ascending order by suit, accommodating wrapping from King to Ace if required. Any voids present in the tableau are refilled from the reserve; should the reserve be depleted, cards must be drawn from the waste pile. Furthermore, cards can be moved from the reserve or tableau to either the foundations or other tableau piles, with the stipulation that an entire column must be relocated as one unit.

When no additional moves are available on the tableau and no further cards can be transferred into the foundations, particularly from the reserve, players may draw cards from the stock (the undealt portion) three at a time into the waste pile. These drawn cards can then be utilized to build either the foundations or tableaux. Players are permitted to make unlimited redeals as long as valid moves exist.

Victory is achieved when all cards have been successfully arranged within the foundations.

At the onset of play, participants start with a score of -50 points. Players earn 5 points for each card successfully moved to a foundation.
